What we did
For show-and-tell, a samurai in a minecraft world:
and a marble obtained by breaking one of the ramune bottles:
And as an activity, we planted bonsai trees, we are patiently waiting for them to grow:
We also made oil lamps a little in advance of the chapter on India. We looked at a real brass oil lamp. We lit little clay diya lamps (found on Amazon) with a variety of oils and fats, they were beautiful.
And we experimented with making lampblack:
And we tasted honey and honeycomb:
